Over three years on the Manhattan Design System team at JPMorgan Chase, I worked across systems design, research, and team leadership, eventually managing the Advocacy team from May 2022 to April 2024, focused on adoption, training, and engagement across product teams. From October 2024 to February 2025, I stepped in as Acting Head of Design Systems while my manager was on parental leave.
My role was both hands-on production work, as well as setting direction and raising the bar for other designers on the team: giving feedback across token systems, our approach to composability, and component design decisions, and demonstrating how to work through problems rather than solving them myself. I also supported Nathan Curtis during his time as a consultant on the team, helping us prepare for modernization at scale.
I identified the gap and led research to test our Figma design components before they left beta.
I was also a key driver in modernizing the design system at scale as it shifted to a composable architecture.
Another favorite was the Shared Libraries project I led. Teams across the org were building their own component libraries on top of the design system, often in interesting ways, but had no way to find or learn from each other’s work, sometimes not even knowing a similar library existed. I built a branded, shared library that pulled in highlighted components from across those team libraries, each with context on the team and the story behind the component, linking back to their full library for anyone who wanted to dig deeper.
Alongside the systems work, I organized recurring events for designer wellness and knowledge-sharing, remote sessions where designers across the org presented their work and taught each other.
